Our recent invite to Legoland Malaysia by IDR Resorts En Zainal at Nusajaya Johor was a memorable one. We get to see 1st hand on the models they are building for the theme park!  Shocked. It was an eye opener for me to see such building  technique using just basic Lego blocks into intricate and detailed models based on famous landmarks in Johor and Asean countries.

We were picked up by 2 IDR shuttles at the airport to transport us to the model workshop location. Most unfortunate is that we are not allowed to take pictures of the models they are building due to certain reasons.

The staffs were so nice to us that they would actually share what they have learned during their training at Lego to be a model designer. Then there was a sight to behold where they showed us their warehouse that keeps the completed models that worth $$MILLIONS of Lego bricks according to En Zainal the director of the company!

Finally we were invited to have lunch arranged with them before departing with a souvenier

Here i would like to thanks:-
IDR Resorts for such a memorable tour.
Model builders and designers for sharing valuable building techniques.  Kiss
    Tuan for inviting  Grin
    Paul for your humour.  Tongue
    Jackson for your transportations  Kiss
and Paanjang16, Night Hawk for being there to share our thoughts
Here are some of the builder models we were allowed to take pictures.

Thanks for the pictures Yaki. Atleast got some memories of the trip there Smiley

Anyway the method of constructing the models there is absolutely amazing! Some of the most intricate models used thousands upon thousands of plates and tiles to create rounded shapes with patterns  Shocked When you see those models that they build, the UCS sets are like for kids!!!

Special thanks to IDR Resorts for the invitation to the model shop Smiley

Actually, there are a large number of models ready at the modelshop. However, we cannot and do not want to expose them here. Why spoil the fun?  Go see them yourselves at LEGOLAND on 2012!

Had a short conversation with Mr. Siegfried, GM of LEGOLand Malaysia. He is very confident it would be open by October 2012, or even September 2012!

    Nighthawk,

    Got any pics  to upload?

Actually, I am still quite stoned even after a week.

On the actual day itself, was already quite blur after lunch! (thanks to the crazy early flight in the morning).

Next day at work, had major system maintenance till 5-6am... blurr...zzzzz.....blur
