Another reviews on Power Miners, the Mine Mech.

    Details:
    Price: RM46.90
    Pieces: 67 (around 70sen/piece)
    Minifigs: 2
    Year released: 2009

    Box art:
    Front:

    Side:
As usual, the name of the rock monster are provided.

    Back:
We can see there's alternative model again, just like Exo-Force, two sets combine become one.

    Content:
There are 3 packet of bricks, two of them contains bricks and one of them contains Boulderax, it goodthey pack differently as it will no damage by other bricks. We get an instruction booklet and sticker sheet.

    Here's the separately pack Boulderax.

    Instruction booklet:
As always, there will be a bricks checklist, other than just building steps.

    Decals:

    Accessories:
This set has more accessories than the one before, and we get a new dynamite piece in it.

Looks like I will be collecting the different colour of crystal too other than the rock monster. JI just love this clear color pieces.

    Minifigs:
We got two minifigs here. 1 miner and 1 rock monster, Boulderax the red one. The miner minifig have both side of torso printed as well as the leg too.

The miners got two expressions, I'm not sure what kind of expression is this, it looks excited to me.

    Boulderax:
A dumb and forgetful  monster he is.

Big mouth monster just eat anything he saw.

    Mine Mech:
Another lime green mecha. this is a short hand and short leg mecha. But still acceptable. The leg articulation is still consider normal although it is short.
    Random shot:

    Front shot:

    Side shot:

    Rear Shot:

    Fun shot:

    Cockpit case:
It can be open and close, which is a good thing. I prefer it ot be like this rather than removing the whole thing.
The orange piece on top is a Barraki eyes.

    Claw:
    A movable claw this is.

    Extra parts:
Now here’s the extra part, two pieces, not much.

    Completion:

For those who plan to get only one rock monster to add in their collection can consider about this set as the price is cheap. Besides you got cool minifig accessories from this set.

    Functions:
    -movable leg
    -working claw and blade
    -opening cockpit

    Pros:
    -minfig accessories
    -new minifig
    -printed leg for miners minifig

    Cons:
    -sticker sheet
    -short hand and leg mecha

    Final verdict:
Playability: 8/10 There are a lot of movable parts like claw, leg, blade and opening cockpit
Design : 7/10 The hand of this mech is just ugly and short.
Price : 8/10 The price per piece seems to be acceptable.
Overall: 8/10 Nice colour, good accessories, nice minifig.

Perhaps TLG can come out rock monster accessories, for example,  a handphone? Considering the mouth of the rock monster can open to THAT extent, it would be perfect! Of course, they need to scale it a bit.

You mean the gigantic walkie talkie with an antenna?
That thing is so over used in LEGO. It's time to come with some really nice mobile phone design.

Maybe brickarm should design a cool one.  Grin

Pieces are quite unqiue for this set... esp the leg joins which normally only appear in huge sets. Lion-kun just can't get over the ugliness of the short stubby arms and legs to buy it.
