Just finish my Crane Truck. In the Brick's name, this set is super dooper complex and HUGE  Shocked Shocked

Spent the whole morning doing it from 8am to 1.30pm, the continue from 5.30pm till 9.45pm only finish. Also due to some adjustments to make the crane section fold up properly and some redo work due to errors  :Smiley Tongue

Hey.. post some pics. Since you got so many titan technic sets, wonder how paanjang is this set compared to the others.

Here are some pictures of my 8258 Wink

The box size is smaller than the insanely large motorised bulldozer box but higher than my 8448 box. However the box usage is good and not that much empty space unlike the dozer or the crawler crane.

When you open the flap there is a 1:1 scale display of the crane truck printed to show the size. I place the tires from the set in the wheel area to show that it is 1:1 scale

Dunno why, there is a smiley stamp inside my box. Weird ahh? Anyone have this in the box?

Since this is a super dooper large set, I sorted out the pieces. As you can see, it occupies the whole table! The blue separator is useful to separate all the small pieces.

Once completed, I compared it to my other Technic titans. The Crane truck has the smallest front profile of the 3.

Looking from the top, the crane truck is the slimmest and the longest.

Rear look of the 3. The crane truck's rear is the most detailed of the 3 with a combination rear light, outriggers and 5th wheel.

Another view of the 3 large technic sets

Comparing it to my other 'toys', it dwarfs leader movie optimus prime and his gang. Even a masterpiece OP is smaller.

It also dwarfs my thunder driller. Definitely not minifigure scale!

I would say it was a large and epic build. When you finish it and you see the size of it compared to your other vehicles in your room then you will understand why this set is the flagship of this year. I don't have the giant tow truck so I do not know it that is larger.

If there are problems with the set is I would say that one has to be careful not to grind their gears. Operating the crane needs constant attention so that you can cut the power when the linear actuator has fully extended or close or the crane hits the cab.

Whoa.... Lion-kun likes this review! Fantabulous! This set made me want to start on Technic when I saw this in Korea. Motorized crane is so cool.

How long you took to put up this gargantuan set?

I guess you are planning to create the pickup truck also? (stickers not yet apply)

    Hi Admin,

Yes, I am new here. I have been searching for Malaysian LEGO enthusiasts all these while.
    I have finally found Bricksmal.
I am particularly a LEGO Technic fans.

I do have other Technic sets other than 8258 (about 10 sets)
Nevertheless, I found that LEGO is quite expensive in Malaysia.
That's the reason I am buying selectively.

It took me 10 hours to assemble 8258.
As for the model B of 8258, I will keep this as a future plan.
Have to wait until I am bored of the A model first. Grin

As for the stickers, I am planning to design and print my own.

    Cheng Fei, Welcome to Bricksmal!

You won't get bored easily with the Model A of 8258, there are so many things you can do with it and there is a lot of modding/motorising possibilities you can do to it. So like me, it will be a long while before I will dissemble it to build the B model haha.

I too noticed your glass display at the back full of technic. I can see a monster dino there Grin Also, is the glass cabinet a Detolf? Can the crane truck enter the detolf? I too want a glass cabinet for my technics.

You can show us your technic collection in the showroom section of this forum at http://bricksmal.com/showroom/Wink

I would love to see what kind of stickers you will make for your crane truck Wink

    Thanks paanjang16 & Lion-kun-san

:Smiley Yeah I agree that it's difficult to get bored of the 8258 model A. Kinda addicted to it's appearance and functionality.

Unfortunately though, the Detolf glass shelf from IKEA is too small to fit in neither 8275 - motorized bulldozer (if you notice there is a minor disassembly required), 8265 - Front loader & 8258 - Crane Truck  Angry
Just managed to fit in smaller Technic models such as 8274 - Combined harvester & 8294- Excavator  Cry

Yup, there's a 4958 - Creator monster dino in the glass shelf. (It did have some design flaw such as not being able to steering it's movement - only front and backward) Undecided

Smiley CF, Lion-kun thinks the standard furniture shops may have larger shelves. Thats what Lion-kun's parents say when we saw them at IKEA.
