Hi Kevin,
Wanna mod your 8448 into Rc. You use the power function part from 8043 right.
How about your 8448, now are complete with those missing parts.?

many member have 8043 set liao.
Next event, all member bring the 8043, just like the machine at the constuction side.

Yo jackson,

Yes I'm going to use the power function from the 8043=) But this is the first encounter with the PF, the R/C with pf base doesn't count =P
So I'm going to try finish building the 8043, played with it first, later on only I'll try to attach it with the 8448, the missing parts are quite expensive, it's like usd100++, so I gave up on ordering those parts.

8043 is so funnn =D

few days before I got the set, I took out my small little bulldozer and took this pic =D

8043 - > end of part 2/3...almost ready=D

    Hi Guys,

I've finished building the excavator! yay! I have some questions thou=)

I'm not sure if I've built the thing wrongly or not, but the remote, when I push both side up or down, both are going the other way. So this is the reverse in the manual, but it can be fixed by reversing the sending signal on the remote.

My batteries for the battery box is weak, it can't even change the gear properly for the gear switch. I haven't bought any new batteries yet.

Just wondering if the ones you guys have is having the same problems as me. =)

    Just some update for you guys;

"Meanwhile more information coming from TLG, provides answers to some questions previously raised at several forums:

•There will be no immediate difference between the old and the new Linear Actuator, thus a different color coding is not going to be used.
However it will be possible to see the difference by checking the production code on the actuator. It's located just below the orange cross hole (code yet to be known).
This way it will be possible to avoid mixing old and new LAs, preventing you to use the wrong ones at your 8043 again.

•The Service Bag will contain 4 new Linear Actuators and a few extra parts to fix the track problem.. "

I guess TLG is altering the helix angle of the internal screw thread of the linear actuators (LA) to a lower angle.
In short, it will needs more rotational input for a very short linear output.

Thus, lowering the torque and letting the input PF M Motor to maintain a high RPM and momentum.

Therefore, the new LA will looks the same in exterior but use different coding due to the internal differences.

I hope this is not confusing for you guys...

*Conclusion: The motorized excavator's digging arm motion will eventually have relatively slower motion but able to function properly.

I'm not a mechanical engineer but I can understand what you are saying. It's just like using a smaller gear to drive a larger gear so that it maintain the driver gear speed while the driven one turns slower.

The M motor is already slow. With the gear ratio change, it will be even slower... Shocked

My point of view is they didnt rili fixed the problem. Eg lowering the torque of the LA of the main arm but takes a longer time to operate it. I do hope the service pack comes with new gearing to reduce the amount of it. 'More gear, more friction'
