Here's a review for pirates impulse set.

    Details:
    Price: RM16.90
    Pieces: 16 (RM1.06/piece)
    Minifigs: 1
    Year released: 2009

    Box art:
    Front:

    Side:
The side is different from City theme which shows you the actual size of minifig, which is show you the size of the fish.

    Back:
No more picture at the back, instead a warning. It certainly saves LEGO packaging cost.

    Content:
A pack of bricks, like any other impulse set and a instruction sheet.

    Instruction sheet:
It includes some old impulse picture at the back and the new pirates set other than instructions.

    New piece:
The fish that is new to everybody.

    Minifigs:
Here's the new pirate minifig. His torso are printed at the back.

    The stuff:
The stuff seems to be separated, not really like it, it's like here a bit of stuff and there a bit of stuff.

    It seems very untidy.

    Completion:
Here's a shot of a complete set, which I'm not really happy about it.

No extra part from this set.

    Pros:
    -fish

    Cons:
    -no extra part
    -not a well design set

    Final verdict:
Playability: 4/10 . Nothing to play with this set, kind of bored, except the minifigs.
Design : 4/10 What is this nonsense, there's nothing to play with at all.
Price : 6/10 This is quite expensive, but many accessories given.
Overall: 5/10 Buy this for the sake for the fig only.

    Lion-kun agrees and disagrees.

This set has reely nice acessories and 2 animals: Pickaxe, gun, Fish, Snake, Box, Diamonds

Lion-kun thinks these things are nice. However, Lion-kun agrees that the set can be reely boring. If you've got other pirates, they prob can start a mini fish-bbq together. =D

true its abit pricey for so little plastic. .... haha. And the snake looks like a worm... Lion-kun no like worm.....%3Cdiclass=%22msgbox%22%3ENoilesuploaded!%3C/di%3E%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E

Hahahha... Lion-kun thinks this set gives NO building experience. Its sad but yeah..... But it would be a nice addition to the pirate team ya knw.. if you got the ship. A couple of these would give you some ruffians to command and also more food stock (if they eat snakes too,... you get a bonus) =D

    That's funny!!!

That is why the chess/tic-tac-toe set is the best source of pirate soldiers since there is some variety in the troop make-up. The imperial impluse set is ok since the imperials have a standard uniform.

This impulse set could have a minifigure with a better torso design and more weapons so that it becomes "pirate's arsenal" instead of a stranded guy with a fish as an extra weapon.

But atleast these guys are well fed with lots of fish!

Well.. that's a lot of brain food. What that amount of brain food, its not impossible for the poor guy to invent something to get himself "unstranded"! LOL!  Grin

Yeah panjang-san.... Lion-kun wants the Tic Tac toe badly, and especially since it has a female pirate that can keep the pirate captain busy instead of spending too much time with the Beanie twins here..... Lion-kun is worried for his sanity.....
