Here's the review on my third Pirates set. A small one too.  Tongue
    Let's begin with some details.

    Details:
    Price: RM35
    Pieces: 45 (around 77sen/piece)
    Minifigs: 2
    Year released: 2009

    Box art:
    Front view:
Well we can see a dumb pirates shooting to the sky while the imperial army fire the cannon right at him.

    Side view:
Looks like the pirates set are a little different. The side of the box actually give us the scale of their accessories like fish, sword and map.

    Back view:
There's this part showing the weapon and accessories provided in this set and a little advertisement of the pirate ship.

    Content:
Here's the content, two packets of bricks and a small instruction booklet.

    Instruction booklet:
Well, we know what must be inside that book. Steps of building, advertisement of other pirates set and brick checklist.

    Accessories and weapons:
Thanks for bringing back the cannon, but it seems like lower quality compare to the previous release. Well, pirates is all about cannon battle.

    New pieces:
At last LEGO introduce the pirate's spyglass which has a wide usage of it and the new fire piece which looks like it was blown sideway by winds. Very useful when you display your army with torch.

    Minifigs:
Well, an imperial army and a pirates. The torso are printed both side. I'm a little disappointed with the imperial army, it is exactly the same with the one in impulse set, Soldier's Arsenal. You gonna have a large twins imperial army though.

    The wall:
    Random view:

Since there's nothing special about the wall, I will not shoot it from different angle. The wall is not attached to each other, and it falls off easily. so IF you want to move it, you better hold the base. Below are the picture of ways it was put together:

So this is the reason that it can fall off while being shot by the cannon.

    The cannon:
    Random view:

    Front:

    Side:

    Rear:

As we can see, it carries 2 cannon ball at the back of it

The cannon is adjustable, high or low.
    From far range:

                                               ---TO---
    Close range:

    Extra parts:
Here's the extra part. Really cool as we get to add the extra sword and the epaulette into our inventory.

    Completion:

This set is actually a nice set but it don't seems to attract me much. But is a good set to get your cannons. Other than that, there is no decal and we get new pieces from it.

    Functions:
    -firing cannon
    -movable cannon cart's wheels
    -adjustable cannon
    -falling wall

    Pros:
    -no decals
    -new pieces
    -cannon
    -extra accessories

    Cons:
    -same imperial army minifig

    Final verdict:
Playability: 8/10 . Falling walls and firing cannon, I just like the cannon.
Design : 8/10 The cannon was pretty much well design, the wall however is to weak.
Price : 9/10 The price are cheaper than impulse set though and much more functions.
Overall: 9/10 A cheap set for minifigs and to build your army.

Bobby does nice reviews =D. Anyways, Lion-kun thinks golden parts make bonus for this set too.

Also, Lion-kun thinks Golden telescope + stick for fish in the other set make ancient pirate lightsaber.  Grin

That telescope piece is a useful piece, it can be anything. Like beam for window.  Cheesy
